PAKISTANI FESTIVALS

Pakistan is a multicultural country. Besides the religious festivals, there are many other cultural and festive events taking place all around the year all over Pakistan. Festivals in Pakistan are held by color, prayers and ritual. Pakistan's calendar features many Muslim religious festivals. There are several festivals held regularly in every part of the country. These events include exhibitions, festivals and local events. These festivals make peoples happy or arranged many parties and have a great time with each other. There are many interesting and Islamic festivals which people celeberate nicely and happily. Like Eid-ul- Fitar is a religious festival celebrated at the end of fasting month. On these festivals children’s are more excited to get eidi to their elders. After that Eid–ul- Aza comes celebration when Muslims from all over the world offer a sacrifice by slaughtering a sheep, cow, or goat following the traditional Islamic customs. It is also called the Festival of Sacrifice. Shab-e-Barat is a religious festival celebrated on 14th of Shaaban. The festival of Shab-e-Barat is celebrated with pomp and enthusiasm by Muslims all over the world. Many more Islamic festivals are celebrated by Muslims. When we talk about our national festivals . A very big festival of Pakistan is our independence day on 14th august 1947 which all peoples celebrate excitedly. On this day, meetings, processions and rallies are held all over the country and the whole country is decorated on this day. People from various walks of life decorate their houses with national flags and the buildings, city shopping centers, bazaars and all the main roads are also being adorned with flags and fancy lights. When we talk about our famous national event so in our mind there is our known lahori festival is basant. Comes. Basant is a Punjabi festival celebrating the onset of the spring season and is also called the Basant Festival of kites. This festival is celebrated with kite flying competitions all over the city. I think festivals are the best means that keeps all the citizens in touch with their culture and religion. Though people might forget the Pakistani history but these festivals do give them some idea about the Pakistani culture. Festivals also teach us moral lessons on various issue.
